The aim of these grants is to facilitate the start-up of new business projects,with the guarantee that they will have sufficient capital to be able to launch them on the market. The grants for SMEs in 2019 that you should know

> Subsidies for unemployed people who want to become self-employed

There are many people who, after being unemployed, decide to become self-employed to start and start their own company. If this is your case, you should know that the self-employment aid program offers you four types of aid,which are subject to possible modifications by the different autonomous communities.

1- Subsidy for the establishment as a self-employed or self-employed worker

There is a subsidy for the establishment as a self-employed worker of up to a maximum of 10,000 euros. Here the total amount will be determined by each Autonomous Community, being an essential requirement to belong to one of the following groups:

  • unemployed
  • Unemployed young people up to the age of 30.
  • Unemployed women.
  • Unemployed with disabilities.

2- Financial grant

The amount of this subsidy will be the equivalent of the reduction of up to four points of the interest fixed in the loan,with a maximum limit of 10,000 euros. In addition, at least 75% of the loan must be used for investments in fixed assets, while the remaining 25% may be used to finance current assets.

Likewise, the investment of fixed fixed assets must exceed 5,000 euros.

3- Grant for technical assistance

This subsidy will represent 75% of the total cost of the services provided,with a maximum of 2,000 euros.

4- Grant for training

The total amount will be 75% of the cost of the courses received, with a maximum of 3,000 euros.

> Single Unemployment Payment

Another interesting subsidy is the Single Payment for Unemployment,also called capitalization of unemployment, whose main objective is to facilitate the implementation of entrepreneurial projects, in addition to generating self-employment. The following requirements must be met to access this aid:

  • You should be entitled to receive at least three months of unemployment benefit.
  • It is not possible if you have benefited from this aid over the previous four years.
  • At the time of your request, you cannot have started the activity for which payment is requested. The activity will have to start within a maximum period of one month, from the collection of the benefit.
  • The activity must be aimed at self-employment.

> Grants for women entrepreneurs

The Women’s Institute, in collaboration with the Ministry of Social Services and Equality, has set up various programmes to support women entrepreneurs:

  • “Rural Women’s Challenge” Program

The objective of the “Rural Women’s Challenge” Program is to support female entrepreneurship in the rural world,promote self-employment and the creation of companies.

  • Innovatia Program 8.3

The Innovatia 8.3 Programme is committed to promoting the entrepreneurial capacity of women in the scientific and technological sectors,and to this end it makes available to women a training platform.

  • Women’s Business Support Program (PAEM)

Promoted by the Women’s Institute, it is aimed at entrepreneurs with a business idea or a modernization and expansion plan.

> Aid for young entrepreneurs

A large part of the subsidies for SMEs are intended for young entrepreneurs, with the aim of solving the poor job prospects that exist today. And the fact is that the data speak for themselves, since in addition to the fact that youth unemployment does not stop growing every day, young people are the ones who have the most difficulty in accessing financing.

In order to be eligible for grants for young entrepreneurs, it is essential that the beneficiary is not over 40 years old,as well as that the aid is intended for the acquisition of assets necessary for the development of the activity.

> Subsidies for innovation of Technology-Based Companies (EBT)

The activity of Technology-Based Companies (EBT) is intended for the exploitation of products or services, using technology or specific technical scientific knowledge.

All technology-based projects will receive the following support:

  • Tax reduction of between 35% and 60%.
  • Financing of EBT projects with less than 6 years of existence at the time the aid is granted.
  • Support for venture capital investment in Spanish companies.
