The Tax Agency warns us of the new forms of fraud that are being carried out in the current 2015 income campaign
Through the Internet: fake websites and phishing
Attempts at deception refer to alleged tax refunds, by sending mass communications by email in which the identity and image of the State Tax Administration Agency is impersonated, or the identity of its directors. Frequently, fraud attempts refer to alleged information that makes it impossible to send the return of the Income Tax campaign and supplants the image of the Tax Agency.
In these fraudulent mailings, known as “phishing”, reference is made to a non-existent tax refund in which the recipient of the e-mail benefits. To be able to have the money you have to access a web address or fill out a form in which you must provide bank account and credit card information.
The Tax Agency recalls that the best measure is the prevention of users before suspicious communications that include the request for bank details.
The Tax Agency insists that:
- It never requests confidential, economic or personal information, account numbers or card numbers from taxpayers by email.
- You never pay refunds charged to credit cards.
- It never charges any amount for the services it provides. The user will only assume the shared cost of calls to 901 phones.

Text messages (SMS) not sent by the Tax Agency
It has also been detected the sending to taxpayers of text messages (SMS) by telephone service and information companies, which redirect calls to the Tax Agency and charge them based on their pricing, to request services such as the request for the draft Income and its confirmation.

Appointment telephone services outside the Tax Agency
It has been detected that certain telephone numbers offer the possibility of making an appointment for the preparation of declarations or the modification of drafts in offices of the Tax Agency.
